The NPFLEX 3D metrology system provides flexible, non-contact, and 3D surface features for large samples of orthopedic medical implants and larger components in the aerospace, automotive, and precision machining industries. It provides data density, resolution, and repeatability beyond the possibilities of contact instruments, making it a complementary technology or independent metrology solution.
****Measurement flexibility
NPFLEX is designed specifically for investigating widely changing sample sizes and shapes without damaging the samples. The WLI technology of this system provides three-dimensional, non-contact measurement of almost any surface feature for insensitive material types. A groundbreaking open gantry design provides access to over 300 degrees, which was previously inaccessible or too difficult to analyze due to size or partial orientation. There is 13 inches (330 millimeters) of space below the target, making it easy to reach areas that other types of profilometers cannot reach.
Custom configuration
The NPFLEX system provides many options for custom operations for specific applications. The option to rotate the head allows for repeated investigation of sidewalls, sloping edges, and angled surfaces. In addition, there are several stages to choose from:
- Optional chuck rotating worktable for fixed fixtures
- Theta rotation stage of sample rotation
- PHI rotation stage of vertical sample rotation
- PHI roller grade for automatic positioning and rotation of small cylindrical samples
- Automatic XY level for automatic XY positioning
Automated processes and analysis
NPFLEX is driven by Vision 64 software, which is the industry's most functional and user-friendly graphical interface. It combines the familiar Windows ribbon design with toolbar functionality. The intelligent architecture supports a wide range of user-defined automation functions. The data analyzer and analysis toolbox of Vision 64 combines industry-specific analysis routines and ISO standards. This interface is based on typical manufacturing production processes and provides tools for easy customization of processes and automatic mapping.
